Our Process

Building Regulations

Most building work will need Planning Permission. This is always the case for new builds and is usually true for home extensions and loft conversions. We will draw up the application on your behalf and keep track of it as it’s processed by your local authority. We’ll keep you up to date with progress. Our experience of this process is extensive, so we can avoid surprise delays or false starts.

What are the Building Regulations?

When Planning Permission is granted (or when Permitted Development rights are confirmed) it comes with the requirement that the work complies with current Building Regulations. These are statutory regulations that ensure building work takes account of relevant health and safety requirements: drainage, insulation and fire safety are typical examples. Essentially, they cover those things which make the property healthy and safe for those who live in or around it.

We will produce the detailed technical drawings and specifications to make sure Building Regulations are met. These detailed plans must be submitted to the local authority to complete the approval process and they form an important part of the project as a whole
